Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — suffered loss for the second successive session on Monday, the 2nd trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 46.47 points or nearly 0.94 percent to close at 4917.43 on the day. Of the 304 issues traded, 68 gained, 200 suffered loss and 36 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 691 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday compared to Tk 753.02 crore on the previous day.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Agni Systems, Alltex Industries, Saiham Textile, Jute Spinners, Anwar Galvanizing, Orion Infusion, Saif Powertec, Meghna Pet Industries, Quasem Drycells, and DESCO.
The CSE key index, CSCX lost 70.18 points to reach 9290.06 at close on the day. Of the 225 issues traded, 48 advanced, 152 suffered loss and 25 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 44.70 crore at the CSE on Monday as against Tk 51.52 crore on Sunday.
