The key share price indices of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
Due to some technical glitch, trading at Dhaka bourse started one and half-hour late due to a technical glitch to open at 12pm instead of the regular timing of 10.30am. Trading hour at the DSE continued till 4pm.
The DSE key index, DSEX jumped 65.19 points or 1.44 percent to close at 4596.81 on the day. Of the 313 issues traded, 235 gained, 49 declined and 29 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 430.65 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday against Tk 403.77 crore on Thurdday.
Aftab Automobiles topped the top 10 gainers list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were Delta Life Insurance, Far Chemical Industries, Generation Next Fashions, Bangas, Al-Arafah Islami Bank, Saiham Cotton Mills, C & A Textiles, Salvo Chemical Industry and RSRM.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Saif Powertec, Ifad Autos, Beximco Pharma, Far Chemical Industries and AFC Agro Biotech.
Top five losers at the DSE were Fu Wang Food, National Polymer, Modern Dyeing & Screen Printing, Saiham Textile and First Bangladesh Fixed Income Fund.
The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI gained 137.29 points to reach 13972.31 at close on Sunday. Of the 234 issues traded, 160 advanced, 43 suffered loss and 31 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 31.03 crore on the day.
