Dhaka Stocks Exchange (DSE) ended trading with rise today, the first trading day of the week as the DSEX, the prime index, went up by 22. 89 points to stand at 4,623.98.
The two other indices also saw positive. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 6.08 points to reach at 1,765.74 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 2.46 points to reach at 1,111.12 points.
The broader index of DSE crossed the 4600-point mark to close the last week on September 8.
Market analysis shows that a total transaction of Tk 314 crore 92 lakh 14 thousand and 254 has been done in DSE. A total of 318 companies and mutual funds participated in DSE transaction today.
Of the issues traded on the day, 139 advanced, 130 declined and 49 issues remained unchanged.
Ten top traded issues in term of value include Lafarge Surma Cement, Acme Lab, GPH Ispat, Shahjibazar Power, KDS Accessories, United Power and Bangladesh Submarine Cables.
The prices of most of the shares witnessed upward trend when trading began on DSE today after 9-day Eid vacation.
The DSE remained closed from September 9 to 17 on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Azha, including four-day weekly holidays (Sept 9, 10 and Sept 16, 17) and additional off for one day on September 15.
