Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced loss on Monday, the 2nd trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX dropped 58.40 points or 1.29 percent to finish at 4477.99 on the day. Of the 306 issues traded, 53 gained, 229 declined and 24 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 289.71 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday against Tk 253.73 crore on Sunday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Singer Bangladesh, Trust Bank, AL-Arafah Islami Bank, Southeast Bank, Samata Leather Complex, Imam Button, Dutch-Bangla Bank, Shahjibazar Power, Mutual Trust Bank, and Eastland Insurance.
The 5 turnover leaders at the DSE were Grameenphone, Shahjibazar Power, Ifad Autos, Summit Alliance Port and ACI.
The CSE key index, CSCX, shed 73.5 points to reach 8311.84 on Monday. Of the 231 issues traded, 45 advanced, 166 suffered loss and 20 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 22.63 crore at the CSE on the day.
