Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced slight gain on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 1.34 points or 0.03 percent to close at 4484.62 on the day. Of the 300 issues traded, 133 gained, 136 declined and 31 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 343.18 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday against Tk 779.78 crore on Thursday.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Khulna Power Company, Saif Powertec, Summit Alliance Port, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, and United Power Generation & Distribution.
The CSE key index, CASPI also gained 2.90 points to reach 13824.88 at close on Sunday. Of the 235 issues traded, 80 advanced, 128 suffered loss and 27 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 81.33 crore on the day at the CSE.
