DSE and CSE indices gain on Wednesday

Key Share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained for the two consecutive sessions on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 75.51 points or 1.88 percent to close at 4089.88 on the day. Of the 311 issues traded, 261 gained, 37 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
IDLC Finance said, “Opportunistic investors continued buying into new positions, lured by market level undervaluation, along with an expectation of systematic turnaround of the market.”
The leading stockbroker also said, “Pulled by the bold buy pressure on the market, broad index DSEX jumped 75.5 points (+1.9%), with 261 scrips advancing on. The robust moves attracted more sideliners, increasing day’s turnover to a total of Tk 364.85 crore.”
Shares worth Tk 364.85 crore changed hands at the DSE on Wednesday against Tk 327.30 crore on last Tuesday.
The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were Legacy Footwear, Golden Harvest Agro Industries, Al-Haj Textile, GQ Ball Pen, Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), Navana CNG, National Tubes, AIMS 1st Mutual Fund, BSRM Limited, and Sinobangla Industries.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were United Power Generation & Distribution Company, ACI Formulations, Shahjibazar Power, ACI, and MJL Bangladesh.
The CSE key index, CSCX also gained 149.69 points to reach 7660.64 at close on Wednesday. Of the 233 issues traded, 190 advanced, 23 suffered loss and 20 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues was Tk 42.13 crore on the day at the CSE.
