Dhaka South City Corporation on Thursday started giving treatment and medicines free of cost to Chikunguniya patients through call centers. Even the doctors will treat the patients going to their houses.
Physicians from 36 health service centers of the DSCC will reach the residences of the infected people. “People need to dial us only. The doctors from the nearby health centers will reach the residences of the patients immediately to give treatment and medicines free of cost,” DSCC Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon said.
The number of the main call center is 09611000999.
The Mayor said, the treatment will be given to the city residents from 28 urban health centers, five urban mother care centers of Urban Primary Health Care Projects, two hospitals and one mother care point of the City Corporation.
The Mayor also assured the people that the disease will come under control soon. He said, the DSCC has taken various measures to combat the disease.
Among them, public awareness programmes like rallies and public gatherings, Imams’ sermons in Mashjids, View exchange programmes in educational institutions, distribution of leaflets, publicity in electronic and print medias and giving of free treatment and medicines.
