Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has taken initiative to spray pesticides on Aedes mosquito breeding ground through online application.
Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said this at the inaugural function of online mosquito eradication programme at DSCC Nagar Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.
He said, “DSCC has initiated a round-the-year mosquito control activity. Based on online application by Dhaka residents, DSCC will spray pesticides at the mosquito breeding grounds inside home or at construction buildings. We will protect Dhaka residents from dengue outbreak.”
Fazle Noor Taposh said a service recipient will be able to take the service of spraying pesticides to destroy mosquito larvae that have accumulated in their homes, commercial buildings or other establishments.
To avail the service one has to apply through the link www.dscc.gov.bd of Dhaka South City Corporation web portal. Services can be taken in five categories. In this case the service recipient has to pay a certain amount. This service will be completed within 3 working days after the application.
The installation category and service rate are as follows- one unit house up to three katha (up to 5 storey) Tk 2000, flat house up to three to five katha (per floor) Tk 2500, apartment up to five to 10 katha (per floor) Tk 3500, apartment up to 10th floor Tk 5000 including the basement and Tk 8000 for the commercial building have been earmarked.
Dhaka South City Corporation CEO Shah Mohammad Imdadul Haque, Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Dr. Sharif Ahmed, Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore Badrul Amin, Secretary Akramuzzaman and other senior officials were present at the programme.
