Three mobile courts of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) fined eight house owners Tk 72,000 and filed cases against them for having Aedes mosquito grounds.
On the ninth day of combing operation on Wednesday to identify Aedes mosquito breeding grounds in the DSCC areas, the mobile courts inspected a total of 79 installations, said a press release.
The mobile courts conducted drives in Central Road area under Zone-1, Gopibagh and Motijheel areas under Zone-2 and Hazaribagh area under Zone-3.
Executive Magistrate Mohammad Kazi Faisal filed two cases and collected a fine of Tk 16,000 for having Aedes mosquito breeding grounds at two establishments in Zone-1 after visiting 37 establishments.
Mohammad Nazmul Ahsan, Executive Magistrate of the mobile court in Zone-2, filed four cases and imposed a fine of Tk 45,000 after visiting 22 establishments.
Besides, the mobile court in Zone-3 inspected 20 installations and found two breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes in two establishments, filed two cases and fined them Tk 11,000.
