Three mobile courts of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) filed eight cases against the authorities concerned for having Aedes mosquito breeding grounds on their house premises and penalised them about Taka 1.25 lakh.
As part of its ongoing drive to identify the Aedes mosquito breeding grounds in its area, the DSCC inspected 100 installments on Sunday, a DSCC press release said.
The mobile courts were conducted in Dhanmondi, Malibagh and Azimpur Colony areas.
A DSCC mobile court, led by its executive magistrate Mohammad Kazi Faisal, carried out a drive in Dhanmondi area and visited 38 installments. Faisal filed three cases and realised Taka 75,000 from the authorities concerned of these installments for finding the Aedes mosquito breeding grounds on their premises.
DSCC executive magistrate Md Nazmul Ahsan conducted another mobile court in Malibagh area and found four Aedes mosquito breeding grounds on the premises of four houses. The court filed one case to this end and penalised the house owners Taka 35,000.
In another drive, a mobile court, led by DSCC executive magistrate Bitan Kumar Mandol, inspected 47 installments in Azimpur Colony area. During the drive, one Aedes mosquito breeding grounds was found. The court fined a case and realisd Taka 5,000 in this regard.
