Haji Mohammad Delwar Hossain, Councillor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Ward no 33 passed away early Sunday. He was 58.
Delwar, who was also the president of Lalbagh Thana unit of Awami League, breathed his last at around 1:00am on the way to hospital.
He deceased left behind a son, two daughters and and a host of well wishers.
Earlier on Saturday, he was admitted to Bardem Hospital. He was reported to have suffered a heart attack.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon expressed deep shock at the death of the councilor and extended condolence to the family members.
His namaz-e-janaza was held at DSCC Nagar Bhaban around 12:30pm and his residence area Lalbagh Shahi Jame Mosque after Johor prayer.
