Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said all the areas under the city corporation will be freed from overhead wires by December next.
“When we go to abroad, we see that there is no obstacle while looking at the sky…but when I return here, we can only see wire garbage over our heads…So, DSCC has taken initiatives to clean up all the wastage by this December,” he said
He said this on Monday while talking to reporters after attending a governing body meeting at Dhaka Mohanagor Mohila College, said a press release.
All the wires of government as well as private organisations and internet service providers will be removed in phases, he said.
“The works of removing waste from roads and open spaces have already been undertaken”, he said adding, “Our goal is to present a Dhaka city which will be freed from wire wastages.” Mentioning that there will be no more waste in the open space, the mayor urged the city dwellers not to throw waste here and there.
“Keep the wastage in your house and later on hand over all the wastage to the primary waste collection service providers (PCSP),” he said.
