The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has announced a budget of Tk 35.99 billion for the fiscal year 2018-19.
DSCC Mayor Mohammad Syed Khokon on Wednesday announced the budget in the Nagar Bhaban auditorium.
The revised budget for the fiscal year 2017-18 was Tk 20.14 billion.
The revenue income in the new budget from own source is Tk 9.09 billion
which includes holding tax of Tk 3.30 billion, market salami (possession fee) Tk 3.05 billion, trade license fees Tk 800 million and assets handover fee Tk 1 billion.
The government will provide Tk 700 million as grant and Tk 4.40 billion as special allowance. The Mayor sought assistance from the city dwellers to implement the budget.
He said, “If you (city dwellers) stay with me, I will give you a livable city.”
