Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday predicted mainly dry weather elsewhere over the country. “Light rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, Khulna and Sylhet divisions as weather may remain mainly dry elsewhere over the country,” it said.
Day temperature may rise by (1-2)degrees Celsius and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, a met office press release said . The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh as one of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay, it said. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay. Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 35.7 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and the lowest one on Friday 24.5 degrees Celsius at Teknaf. The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Friday was recorded 5 millimeters (mm) at Hatiya.
