UNB, Dhaka :An alleged drug trader was gunned down by his rivals in the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Swapan, 26, son of Sultan of Algarchar in Sonargaon of Narayanganj.Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Momin said a gang of 3-4 miscreants swooped on Swapan in an under-construction staff quarters of National Institute of Cardio Vascular Diseases (NICVD) in the area around 8:15 am and fired gunshots at him, leaving him dead on the spot.On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.Swapon’s rivals might have killed him over illegal drug trading and establishing dominance in the area, the OC added.
