A drug trader named Md. Jewel Shaikh (39) was arrested along with 1,135 Yaba pills by RAB-6 of Khulna from the bank of a pond belonging to one Dhiren Mondol of village Maujardanga under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district at Sunday night.
It is stated in a press release signed by Md. Bazlur Rashid, Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-6, Khulna and issued on Monday morning that acting on secret information a contingent of RAB-6 raided the area (Maujardanga village) at the night and arrested drug trader Jewel along with the Yaba (1,135) pills from there. At that time a mobile phone was also recovered from his possession. He had been engaged in drug trading business for long.
Arrested Jewel is the son of one Kuddus Shaikhh of village Dhuligati under Morrelganj Upazila of the district. Arrested Jewel was handed over to Bagerhat Model PS on Monday after lodging a case with the PS under Narcotic Act.
