The State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel said the drug peddlers are the enemies of our society.
He said criminals who are killing youths with abusive drugs would be brought to the book. Nobody would be able to save them as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is showing zero tolerance against drug abusers, he added. The state minister said this on Sunday while speaking as the chief guest at a function on ‘Police Sheba Shoptaho 2019’ at Tongi Purbo police station. Police Commissioner YM Belalur Rahman chaired the meeting while Gazipur City Mayor Jahangir Alom, Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur Dr Dewan Mohammad Humayun, Sarwar Bin Kashem, Commander of RAB 1 and Tongi Thana Awami League president freedom fighter Fozlul Haque spoke at the programme as special guests.
“We will feel better if you bring a man to the light from darkness… There are five crore youths in the country, he added.
The minister also said 200 stadiums would be built across the country as only sports could divert youths away drug abuse and militancy.
