The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a drug peddler named Yunus Hossain, 38, along with 40,000 pieces of yaba pills from a cattle truck in Dhaka’s Darussalam area on Friday night.
Confirming the matter on Saturday, RAB-4 Assistant Superintendent of Police Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury said on Friday, a raid was carried out in the Darussalam Police Station area of the capital on the basis of secret information.
From there, 40,000 pieces of yaba hidden in a cattle transport truck were seized. The truck was also seized.”
From primary questioning, it is found that the detainee had been collecting Yaba from Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar areas for a long time and bringing it to the capital by trucks, covered vans, pickups, and private cars.
He was supplying yaba to Mirpur and its surrounding areas.
RAB official Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury said that necessary legal action would taken against him.
