Police arrested a drug-peddler with 6,600 pieces of Yaba tablets from Kheyaghat areas in Gournadi municipal town of Barisal district on Thursday noon. The arrested drug peddler was identified as Isarul Molla, son of Shahjahan Molla from Sakarpar under Rajoir upazila of Madaripur district.
Abul Kalam, Gournadi police station officer in charge, said police on basis of secret information started checking of baggage at the Kheyaghat area on Thursday noon.
During checking three mobile phones, 6,600 pieces of Yaba tablets found in toys, carried at school bag of Isarul.
Assistant Sub Inspector Nurul Islam lodging a case under narcotic control act sent the arrested drug peddler to Barisal central jail after forwarded to the court, the OC Gournadi PS told.
