Police in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler along with a foreign-made pistol and six rounds of bullets from Nancy-Bazar in the district town recently.
The arrestee was identified as Faruk Mia alias Tabij Faruk.
Based on secret information, regarding an invoice of 1,000 pieces of yaba smuggling, a police team conducted a drive in the area and arrested Faruk Mia with the pistol and bullets, said Shahadat Hossain Titon, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Faruk was involved in drug peddling for long. There are several cases against him with different police stations, it was learnt.
A firearms case was filed with Sadar Police Station in this connection, the OC added.
