A Barishal court on Monday sentenced a drug peddler to life term imprisonment .
K M Shahid Ahmed, judge of the tribunal for prevention of crimes against public safety, announcing this verdict after examining eight witnesses also fined the sentenced accused Nasiruddin Fakir Tk 50 thousand or to serve more one year imprisonment.
Humaun Kabir, bench clerk of the court, said Sub Inspector Milon Bishwas of dtetective branch of Brishal Metropolitan Police, on basis of tip off operating drive at Notun Bazaar area of the city on January 23, 2016 arrested drug peddler Nasir Fakir.
Then 28 grams of heroin was recovered from his possesion and a case was lodged against the arrestee under narcotic control act with Barishal Kotwali police station on the same day.
SI Boichi Bishwas of DB BMP after investigation submitted charge sheet against the accused on February 26 of the same year.
