Police arrested a drug dealer from Shilasi village of the municipal town on Tuesday evening. At that time a policeman was injured in a coup filed by a drug dealer.The injured policeman was treated at the Upazila Health Complex. The arrested drug dealer is Md. Shahriar Mahmud Rony alias Kadu Rony,35,son of Abul Kashem of Shilasi village in the municipal town of the upazila.
According to police sources, a team of police conducted an operation in Shilasi village of the municipal town to arrest Md. Shahriar Mahmud Rony alias Kadu Rony, accused in multiple drug cases. Police member Mohammad Shahriar Zakaria was hit in the arm and leg by sharp weapon.
Later, police arrested him and recovered 106 piece of yaba tablet and 25 grams of heroin from his body. The injured policeman was given first aid at Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex.
Gafargaon Police Station OC Farooq Ahmed said there were six other cases including drugs against the arrested Rony.
