The number of drug addicts in the Daudkandi Upazila including Kawadi and the adjacent villages, is increasing gradually.
Milon Khandakar, son of Siddique Khandakar and his wife Hajera Begum has been continuing drug business in the shade of rickshaw and cycle repairing business. The conscious young men of the village tried to stop the anti-social business, but Milon with his cadres beat them.
Some days ago, a report was published in the Daily Alokito Bangladesh. Complain was made in the thana. Suman Saha, Assistant Inspector made an enquiry and he found genuinity of the complain.
Then in a village sitting Milon Khandakar was fined and he gave word that he would no more do this anti-social business. But, he did not keep his word and is operating his drug business as before. His wife Hajera Begum is selling the drug to the young customers of the area.
In these circumstances, the people of the locality is expecting to get full co-operation of the government administration to get rid of the business destroying the lives of the young generation.
