DRU Media Cup Football enters quarterfinal stage

The Walton-DRU Media Cup six-a-side Football Tournament advanced to the quarterfinal stage on the 3rd day of the meet at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here on Tuesday.
Eight teams — ATN Bangla, Bangla News, Bangla Vision, Daily Star, Kaler Kantho, Independent, Sangbad Pratidin and ATN News — reached the quarterfinals from their respective groups after eliminating their rivals.
In the day’s matches, ATN Bangla beat Jamuna TV by 3-1 goals in tie-breaker; Bangla News defeated Samakal 2-1 in tie-breaker; Bangla Vision outplayed Radio Today 2-0; Daily Star beat GTV 1-0; Kaler Kantho overcame BD News 4-1 in tie-breaker; Independent beat Janakantha 2-0 in tie-breaker; Sangbad Pratidin beat RTV 1-0 while ATN News defeated Inqilab 1-0 in tie breaker.
Parag Arman of ATN Bangla, Sirajul Islam of Bangla News, Moniruzzan Ujjal of Bangla Vision, Al Amin of Daily Star, Rahenul Islam of Kaler Kantho, Shaheed Siddiqui of Independent, Badrul Alam Khokon of Sangbad Pratidin and Towhidur Rahman of ATN News were adjudged man of the match of their respective matches.
All the four quarterfinal matches will be held on Wednesday morning while the semifinals and the final are scheduled for Thursday.
In the quarterfinals, ATN Bangla will meet ATN News at 9 am, Bangla News will encounter Sangbad Pratidin at 9:30 am, Bangla Vision will play Independent at 10am while Daily Star will face Kaler Kantho at 10:30 am
