Disaster Management and Relief Affairs Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram, urged the District Relief and Rehabilitation Officers (DRROs) to further enhance their monitoring activities on Project Implementation Officers (PIOs) to gear up the disaster management activities of upazila level.
“DRROs will monitor the activities of project implementation officers,” he said this on Thursday while addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural session of a two-day “DRRO Conference-2016” and “Electronic Assets Register” at the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) auditorium here.
Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Affairs and Department of Disaster Management were jointly organized the conference.
Disaster Management and Relief Affairs Secretary M Shah Kamal attended the conference as the special guest while Director General of Disaster Management Department M Reaz Ahmed in the chair.
The minister said the country has achieved remarkable progress in various sectors like food security, electricity production, life expectancy and maintain law and order under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“People now happy and we are working relentlessly for their happiness,” he added.
