At last, a divers team of Fire Service and Civil Defence has recovered the body of a minor girl from the city’s Kadamtali canal after five days on Thursday noon.
The victim identified as Ashamoni, 6, daughter of one Ershad from Mirajnagar of Kadamtali. She was also a student of playgroup in a local School.
Family sources said, on February 1, the victim girl went to play with her friends on the Rayerbagh-Kodomtoli road near the local’s DND Colbert over a cannel. Afterwards, their ball fell down in the cannel. Ashamoni went to the water to recover the ball but suddenly she drowned into the water.
Ershad Hossain, Control Room Duty Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence confirmed the news to the media and said, “Our divers team managed to recover the body from the canal around 2:0-0pm on Thursday noon.
Nazmuzzaman, Deputy Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that there is abounds of trash in the cannel which was cleaned by our two teams since four days. But suddenly on Thursday noon, our divers found the body over there.
