Capus Report :
The remote-controlled aircraft, known as drones, made with local equipments by the students of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), took its inaugural flight on Wednesday.
The designers claim that this device will be able to reach anywhere, operated by a remote, within a short time and making almost no noise. SUST professor, prominent writer and columnist Zafar Iqbal inaugurated the flight.
Project captain Syed Rezwanul Haque was present with two of his group members, Rahat and Robi, during the inaugural flight. “They had to try very hard”, Professor Zafar Iqbal said. “They failed several times- the drone crashed. But finally they designed something that flies”.
Rezwan dreamed of making this drone from his childhood. In April last year, he took the idea to Pfor Zafar Iqbal. The students have designed the drone for Bangladesh Army. However, it can be used for other purposes.
“Our model do not require a runway for landing or lift-off”, Rezwan said. “You can make it fly just by throwing it in the air. It can send information before it has been destroyed”.
