Police recovered throat-silt body of an auto-rickshaw driver, presumably thought to be killed by carjackers, from Mobarakpur area of the district town on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, 35, son of Afaz Uddin, a resident of Kaliganj area of the town.
Police said locals noticed the body lying in a brickfield, owned by one Abu Miah, in the area around 8.30am and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Sherpur General Hospital for an autopsy.
Police suspected that Razzak might have been killed by miscreants during their bid to snatch his auto-rickshaw at night.
