Police arrested a passenger-bus driver for stalking and attempt to molest a female passenger, 20, on way from Agoiljhara to Dhaka route.
Afzal Hossain, officer in charge of Agoiljhara Police Station, said police arrested the accused Al Amin, 35, driver of Golden Line Transport Company and son of Habibur Rahman from Raghunandanpur of Faridpur district.
A case was lodged in this connection on Friday night accusing bus driver Al Amin.
After that police arrested the accused from Poisarhut bus stand when he came to Poisharhut on return-trip on early Saturday.
The arrested accused sent to Barishal central jail after producing before the court on Saturday afternoon, the OC of Agoiljhara PS added.
Sub Inspector Taiebur Rahman, investigation officer of the case, said Ahsan Habib, brother of victim’s friend, as complainant lodged a case under section 10 of the act for preventing torture against women and children on Friday late night.
After that police arrested the accused bus driver when he came Agoiljhara in return-trip and sent to jail producing before the judicial magistrate court on Saturday afternoon, the IO added.
Ahsan Habib, complainant of the case, alleged that the victim on May 15 came to visit their house and returned to Dhaka on May 18 by that night coach (Dhaka-Metro-14-8682).
