District administration of Chittagong launched drive against the price spiral of the essential commodities aimed at keeping the prices stable during coming Holy Ramadan month.
Five mobile courts will work in the city during the Ramadan in the city to check price hikes.
Deputy commissioner of Chittagong Mezbahuddin announced it while addressing the world metrology day celebration as arranged by BSTI at Chittagong circuit house hall yesterday morning.
He said two mobile will visit different kitchen markets to justify the prices of the essential commodities from today.
He further cautioned the unscrupulous businessmen for any unfairmeans in the prices of the commodities during the holy month.
He also said less weighing of the commodities is also a punishable offense. Divisioanl commissioner of Chittagong Md. Abdullah also address the meet as chief guest.
Among others, regional director of BSTI and the president of Chittagong Chamber Mahbubul Alam also spoke on the occasion.
