The authority of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL) has decided to continue its drive against illegal gas connections, according to a press release.
The TGTDCL from July 1, 2015 to November 30 had disconnected nearly 52 kilo meter pipes of illegal gas connections in different districts across the country, the press release said.
It is said that, 11,398 feet pipes were disconnected in Dhaka city, 59, 895 feet in Savar, 1,700 feet in Fatulla, 50,500 feet in Narshingdi, 31,527 feet in Gazipur, 1,040 feet in Tangail and 12,800 feet in Mymensingh district.
Besides, the press release also said that the authority with the help of police arrested four persons in connection with their alleged involvement in providing illegal connections.
The TGTDCL has so far from 16 February, 2015 to 30 November, 2015 has disconnected 316 kilo meter of such lines.
According to the press release, the TGTDCL has urged all concerned to stay away of giving illegal connections. Otherwise legal actions will be taken against the involved persons.
