Dreamliner ‘Sonar Tori’ reaches Dhaka

Staff Reporter:Dreamliner ‘Sonar Tori’, the brand new Boeing 787-9 of Biman Bangladesh Airlines reached at Dhaka on Saturday evening.
It had started from Seattle, USA and reached Dhaka’ Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 6:10pm.
‘Sonar Tori’ left Boeing’s Everett factory in Seattle at 12.30pm (local time) on Friday after the Boeing authorities handed them over to a Bangladesh delegation. A press release of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry said it.
Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Air Marshal (retd) Muhammad Enamul Bari, Additional Secretary of Finance ministry Kabirul Yasdani Khan and Joint Secretary of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Dr Md Mosharraf Hossain received the Dreamliner from the Boeing officials.
On November 17, Biman and the US aircraft manufacturer announced at the Dubai Air show that Biman bought two 787-9 Dreamliners.
Biman’s first and second Dreamliners – ‘Akash Beena’ and ‘Hangsabalaka’ – arrived in Dhaka in August and December last year.
The third one –‘Gaangchil’ – arrived in July and the fourth one, ‘Rajhanso’, in September this year.
The ‘Achin Pakhi’ will arrive Dhaka at December 24.
Including that Boeing the numbers of Biman’s airplanes will be 18.
