The long -awaited dream of the residents of Simanapara village of Diginala Upazila under Khagrachari district was fulfilled following the establishment of one primary school in the area .
Mostafa Hakim Foundation of Chittagong fulfilled dreams of Diginala border belt villagers long after 200 years. The school was constructed in the name of Hosne Ara Manzoor, wife of former Mayor and Chairman of Mustafa Hakim Manzoor Alam at a cost of Tk.30 lakh, sources said.
Local legislator Kuzendra Lal Tripura unveiled the plaque of the school as chief guest recently.
To run the school academic classes, six teachers already appointed. Winter clothes and blankets also distributed among the newly admitted students in the school, sources said.
Among others,founder of the school and wife of the former city mayor Manzoor Alam, Director of MHF Didaru Alam MP, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Khargrachari (Education) Md. Abdur Rahman, Zonal diginala commander Lt. Col. Mohsin Reza, Diginala Upazila Chairman Nava Kamal Chakma, AC Land of Diginala upazila Shamsul Alam,Directors of MHF Nizamul Alam, Sarwar Alam, Saiful Alam Md. Kawser Rabbi, General Manager of MHF Nipur Chowdhury, Principal of Mustafa Hakim University College Md. Alamgir, vice principal Badsha Alam, Engr. Bipul Jyoti Chakma, Upazila Awami league President Haji Md. Kashem, officer In-charge of Diginala thana Mizanur Rahman, Diginala Press club President JahangirAlam, office Secretary of North district AL Mohiuddin Bablu, member Md. Idrish, member Mahbubul Alam, Satyajit Barua, Md. Jasimuddin, Hatendra Lal Tripura, Kankanada Tripura, Head teacher of the school Dhina Tripura and the local elite were present on the occasion, sources said.
NGO worker Binodhan Tripura delivered address of welcome on the occasion. MHF sources said there were no school within the 8 kilometer areas of Diginala simanapara village .The students of Simanapara used to come to Diginala Sadar school by walking on foot about 8 kilometers starting walking from 5 am and reach to their homes back at 7 pm after end of the classes at 4 pm. About 50 students of the Simanapara used to go Diginala Sadar school every on foot and following the establishment of the Simanapara school , their miseries will be eased to maximum extents.
A local resident sources said their minor boys and girls will be able to undergo study easily in these nearby school and felilcitated the MHF for their great donations of establishing a school in the area. A Buddhist priest Dhanaranjan Tripura (60) told the MHF officials that there about 150 families residing within the Simanapara consists of 40 families of Khagrachari Sadar Upazila, 40 families of Diginala upazila and 70 families of Taiduchara areas of border belt.
Former Mayor and Executive Director of MHF Manzoor Alam in his brief address in the opening ceremony of the school reiterated his satisfaction over the welfare oriented social work for the humanity . He also said service to the welfare of the needy people is also a part of the political activities and he reiterated his ambitions for the less fortunate people of the society rather politics.
