One of the favorite funs of Sohel Rana, an under privileged kid growing up at government children family in Mirpur, is run to the rooftop for seeing airplanes whenever he hears sound of jet engines.
It is indeed one of his dream to onboard an airplane to see how the earth, the clouds look like from the aircraft.
“It’s like a dream comes true. Now I know how earth and clouds look like from the airplane. Thanks all who gave me the opportunity to get the experience of having a flight,” he expressed his joy after having a round flight of Biman Bangladesh airlines of Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka.
Biman, the national flag carrier on Saturday arranged a joy flight for 30 under privileged children.
The children from government children family of Tejgaon and Mirpur went to Sylhet in the morning and return to Dhaka in the afternoon by a Biman Bangladesh airlines flight operated by 737 Boeing aircraft.
After landing at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet, the pilot of the flight Nawshad Ataul Qaium greeted the children emerging from the cockpit and had pictures with them.
Before returning to Dhaka, the children visited a Lakkatura Tea Garden and Mazar of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) in Sylhet.
After arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Biman’s Managing Director and CEO A M Mosaddik Ahmed received the children and gave them Eid dress as a gift.
Biman’s General Manager Shakil Meraj said Biman Bangladesh Airlines took the initiatives as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR). “We believe, flight will help the kids to make their dreams big,” he said.
