The Draw Ceremony of Federation Cup was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Thursday. The Federation Cup starts from February 16 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Bangladesh Football Federation will arrange the prestigious football meet.
Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation and Chairman of Professional Football League Committee of BFF Abdus Salam Murshedy, Deputy Chairman of Professional Football League Committee Abdur Rahim, General Secretary of Bangladesh Football Federation Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, Member of BFF Amirul Islam Babu, former players of Bangladesh National Football team Abdul Gaffar, Md Elias Hossain, Satyajit Das Rupu, freedom fighter Golam Quader were present at the draw ceremony, among others.
A total of 12 teams splitting into four groups will take part in the Federation Cup.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited, Team BJMC, Soccer Club, Feni have been placed in Group A, Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, Uttar Baridhara Club have been billed in Group B, Dhaka Abahani Limited, Chittagong Abahani Limited, Farashganj Sporting Club have been placed in Group C, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club, Brothers Union Limited, Rahmatganj MFS have been taken place in Group D.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will face Soccer Club, Feni in the inaugural match at 4.00 pm at the big bowl while Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will meet Rahmatganj MFS at 6.15 pm at the same venue on February 16.
The final will be held at the same venue on March 5.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk 50,00,000 and Bangladesh Football Federation will bear the total expenditure of the football meet.
The champions of the tournament will be awarded Tk 5,00,000 while the runners-up will be given Tk 3,00,000.
