An 8-day Bangladesh-India Drama Festival will begin at Rajshahi University on 28 this month.
RU Theatre Department and Indian High Commission to Bangladesh are jointly organising the festival, said Dr. Shahriar Hossain, Chairman of the Theatre Department.
Minister for Cultural Affairs Asaduzzam Noor will inaugurate the festival while Indian high commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran will present as chief guest with RU vice chancellor Prof Muhammad Mizanuddin in the chair, he also said.
Among others, Md Abdul Mannan, Director General of Bangladesh Television, Liakot Ali Laki, Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, eminent writer Hasan Azizul Haque will attend the inaugural ceremony.
A total of ten dramas will be staged at the University Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium in the festival. Theatre groups from Bangladesh and India will participate in the programme.
