City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin attended a discussion meeting with the bureau chiefs of print and online media on Thursday and said that the drainage system in Chittagong will be improved after completing the project of Capital Dredging that was taken by Chittagong Port Authority earlier.
Mayor farther added that I met with Chittagong Port chairman and discussed the matter with Shipping Minister but Karnaphuli dredging is being delayed and the city dwellers are suffering a long.
People of city’s Chawak Bazar, Khatungong, Baddarhat and CDA Residential Area have to suffer during rainy seasons and high tidal period and we are trying to solve this problem.
The Mayor said that we take initiatives to collect the garbage from door to door and we delivered garbage bin in each family step by step . I am also trying to clean the footpath from hawkers and they will be do their business in a certain time and they will be provided identity card , he farther added.
He also discussed about billboard that was imposed by Chittagong Development Authority beside the flyover pillar that hampered the beauty of clean city.
He pointed out that he also sent letter to CDA chairman for removing the publicity of some cement company without the permission of the City Corporation.
