Draft of the law for appointment of judges to the High Court has been prepared, said Law Minister Anisul Huq Saturday.
The draft will be placed in the cabinet meeting within a few days, to get approval, he said.
Anisul, as a special guest, disclosed the matter while addressing a program of certificate distribution to the fresh lawyers, organized by the Bar Council at Officers’ Club in Dhaka.
“An act is necessary for appointing justices. The draft has been prepared. It will be sent to the cabinet for approval, within a few days,” he said
He announced to provide the lawyers Tk 40 crores to the benevolent fund as they don’t get any ‘retired benefit’, he added.
The program was also attended by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.
