The draft of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Law has nearly been finalized after making its some necessary scrutiny.
According to the draft law, GMP will be constituted through making 10 thanas in the Gazipur City Corporation.
Joint Secretary of the Home Ministry Nurul Islam said after completing all official process, the draft law on Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) will be placed at the next session of the Jatiya Sangsad.
He also said the draft of “The Gazipur Metropolitan Police Law, 2015 was approved at the cabinet meeting on December 7. A committee also was formed to scrutinize the draft law.
According to the draft proposal, GMP will have 10 police stations — Salana, Joydebpur, Chourasta, Konabari, Mouchak, Kashimpur, Board Bazaar, Mirer Bazar , Tungi East and Tungi West Police station.
