Dr Zafrullah beats Coronavirus, joins Nasim’s janaza

Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury who was infected with coronavirus has made recovery.
Confirming the matter, Gonoshasthaya Kendra in a post in its official Facebook page on Saturday night said the corona antigen of Dr Zafrullah is negative while antibody for Covid19 positive. “We’ve also tested his GR Covid19 Rapid Dot Blot IgG where he is also positive that means he has seroconversion.”
In the post, Dr Muhib Ullah Khandaker said the tests were carried out with the rapid testing kits invented by his own institution.
Dr Zafrullah has now been suffering from Covid negative pneumonia, he said.
He has been able to keep oxygen saturation at 95 percent without additional oxygen.
Gonoshasthaya Kendra Public Relations Officer Forhad Hossain said Zafrullah’s samples were sent to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) this morning for a RT-PCR test.
He said Zafrullah participated in a Namaz-e-janaza of Awami League Presidium member and former health minister Mohammad Nasim at Banani Graveyard in the morning.
Forhad said the Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder decided to join the janaza since he had tested negative for the coronavirus.
He also said Zafrullah had warm a relation with Nasim.
Dr Zafrullah, a freedom fighter, was diagnosed with coronavirus after being tested with the kit developed by Gonoshasthaya Kendra on May 25.
Awami League leader Mohammed Nasim, who passed away Saturday after suffering a stroke while undergoing treatment at a city hospital for coronavirus, was laid to eternal on Sunday morning.
He was buried by the grave of his mother at Banani Graveyard in the capital following the 2nd namaz-e-janaza held at its mosque at 10:30am on a limited scale following the health guidelines.
Nasim was also given a guard of honour as he was a freedom fighter.
