UNB, Sylhet :
Eminent writer and also a teacher of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal resigned from all administrative posts of the university amid a movement demanding the removal of the vice chancellor.
Dr Zafar Iqbal was performing administrative duty as head of Electrical and Electronics Department, director of Computer centre and
Institute of ICT and president of SUST journal editorial council.
He sent a letter in this regard to the registrar of the university on Thursday.
Earlier, on April 20, 35 teachers of the university, including Dr Zafar Iqbal, resigned from their administrative posts demanding removal of its vice chancellor Dr Aminul Haque Bhuiyan. When the VC went on a two-month leave amid their movement on April 24 the 35 teachers withdrew their decision. However, the VC joined the work on June 22 after the two-month leave. The pro-Awami League teachers’ panel of the university resumed their movement after the VC joined the office.
