Pro-VC of Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology Prof. Dr. Md. Rafiqul Alam assumed charge of Vice Chancellor of CUET from Friday . Former Vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam formally relieved from the post. As per CUET Act 2003 section 10(a) under President’s(Chancellor) power Prof. Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam appointed as vice chancellor and accordingly after completion of 4 years term of the said act Prof. Dr.Jahangir Alam relieved from the post on April 14 last.
In the main conference hall of CUET , the handing over and taking over functions of the Vice chancellors was held duly attended by all Deans, Departmental Heads, Directors, Section incharges on Friday morning. The new VC thanked the outgoing VC for his glorious chapters during his tenure.Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Alam was born in Rangunia in 1958 and as a student of CUET obtained Engineering Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering in 1979 . He jointed as lecturer in EEE department of CUET in 1982 and gradually promoted to Pro-Vice chancellor on March 6, 2013.
