A two-day memorial lecture on “Dr Muhammad Shahidullah” began on Tuesday at RC Majumder Arts auditorium of Dhaka University. Dhaka University Bangla Department organised the memorial lecture to marking the birth and death anniversary observance of Dr Muhammad Shahidullah.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Nasreen Ahmad inaugurated the function as chief guest with Bangla Department Chairperson Prof Begum Akhtar Kamal in the chair.
Prof Azfar Hussain of United States Grand Valley State University’s Liberal Studies Department delivered lecture on “Kazi Nazrul Islam and Tri-Mahadeshio Sahityatattwa” (Kazi Nazrul Islam and Tri-Continental Literature),” while Dhaka University Professor Emeritus Dr Sirajul Islam Chowdhury delivered another lecture on “Sarat Chandra and Samantabad” (Sarat Chandra and Feudalism).
Chittagong University Bangla Department Prof Mahibul Aziz will deliver lecture on “Sangkat Mokabelai Sahitya” (Literature to Meet Challenge of Crisis),” while Dhaka University Bangla Department Professor Syed Mohammad Shahed will delivered another lecture on “Muhammad Shahidullah’ar Loksahitya and Folklore Vabna” (Muhammad Shahidullah’s Concept on Folklore) today at 3.30pm at the closing session.
DU Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman will preside over the function.
