Freedom fighter Dr Mozammel Hossain MP of Bagerhat Constituency-4, freedom fighter, former Deputy inister of Social-welfare and Woman Affair, President of Bagerhat District Unit of Bangladesh Awami League was laid to eternal rest in his family graveyard in the village Kachubunia within Ramchandrapur Union under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district with guard of honour on Friday evening.
It may be mentioned here that Dr. Mozammel Hossain breathed his last in Bangabandhu Medical University Hospital in Dhaka at Thursday night (12-45 pm) while he was undergoing treatment. He was 82. His first Namaj-e-Janaja was held in Bangladesh Sangsad Bhaban plaza on Friday morning (at 11 am). Later his dead body was flown by a helicopter from Dhaka to Bagerhat Shaikh Helal Uddin stadium (at 12-30 pm) where it was received by the district administration, police administration, Bagerhat district Awami League leaders and people of all walks of life after it (dead body) was given a guard of honour. The 2nd Namaj-e-Janaja of late political leader was held in the same stadium after Jumma prayer. It was attended by thousand of people who paid their last respect to (their) late popular political leader.

His 3rd Namaj-e-Janaja was held in Govt. S M College premises in Morrelganj Upazila headquarters and the 4th and last Namaj-e-Janaja was held in his native village Kachuabunia.
After obtaining his medical degree from Chittagng Medical College he started his medical practice at Morrelganj Upazila headquarters and in Bagerhat district town and joined Awami League politics. He had been President of Bagerhat district Awami League for last 40 years and was elected MP for 5th terms consecutively (once form Bagerhat Constituency-1and 4 times from Bagerhat Constituency-4). He was pious, honest, well-behaved and generous all through his life. He left behind one son and a host of relatives, friends admirers to mourn his death.
