Former Ambassador and Permanent Representative of United Nations Dr AKM Abdul Momen has called upon the rich people to come forward to help the poor and distressed people in the society.
He said, once upon a time, rich people of Sylhet established many educational institutions and the rich supported the poor for wedding or education of the poor’s children but now the society has been changed. He called upon the affluent section of the society to help the poor.
Dr Momen was addressing a winter clothes distribution programme as Chief Guest at Raynagar Rajbari area at Ward No 18 in the city recently. AL President Abdul Momit Chowdhury, Vice President Sajun ahmed, Dr. Poresh Chandro Nath, Secretary Mahbub Khan Masum, 19 No word AL Secretary Jabed Siraj were also p-resent on the occasion.
