A new trust fund titled ‘Dr.Khurshid Jahan Gold Medal Trust Fund’ has been set up at the Institute of Nutrition & Food Science (INFS) of Dhaka University (DU). In order to set up this fund Prof Dr Khurshid Jahan of INFS handed over a cheque for Tk 5 lakh to DU Treasurer Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin on Thursday at the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Director of the INFS Prof Dr Aleya Mowla, Prof Dr Nazma Shaheen and Acting Registrar Syed Rezaur Rahman were, among others present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this donation, every year one meritorious student, who will secure the top position in the Honors Final Examination of the Institute, will be awarded ‘Dr. Khurshid Jahan Gold Medal’.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Arefin Siddique thanked the donor for setting up this Trust Fund at Dhaka University and hoped that students would be benefited and encouraged by this donation.
He urged all to come forward and facilitate the meritorious students of the university in their study process so that they would be able to prepare themselves as worthy citizens of the country.
