Dr. Kamruzzaman ,former faculty member of NAME, BUET, currently working at Class NK, Japan have been elected Chairman for IACS ( International Association of Classification Societies for Ship Building) Survey Panel by direct voting of ABS(America), BV (France), CCS(China), CRS(Croatia), DNV(Denmark), IRS(India), KRS(South Korea), LR (UK), NK(Japan), PRS(Poland), RINA (Italy).
He will start his tenure from January 2023 for next 3 years but will participate IACS’ meetings as incoming Survey Panel Chair until December this year.
This is the first time when someone of South Asian origin is taking Charge of IACS Survey Panel.
