Jatiya Oikyafront chief Dr Kamal Hossain will embark on a tour of Mymensingh today (Saturday) to carry out election campaign in favour of the candidates of ‘Sheaf of Paddy’.
The decision was taken at a meeting of coordination committee of the alliance on Thursday night.
“Dr Kamal Hossain along with Oikyafront’s senior leaders will set out for Mymensingh at 10am on Saturday,” Gono Forum leader Jaglul Haider Afrik told reporters after the meeting.
He said Dr Kamal and the Oikyafront leaders will address different rallies on their way to Mymensingh to carry out the electioneering.
Afrik also announced some other programmes of Jatiya Oikyafront worked out at the meeting.
As part of the programmes, he said the alliance leaders will pay homage to the martyred intellectuals at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Memorial at 8am on Friday, marking the Martyred Intellectuals Day.
They will also hold two rallies-one at Mohammadpur at 2pm and another at Shyampur at 4pm-and a views-exchange meeting at 3pm at the alliance’s Puranapaltan office on Friday.
Besides, the Oikyafront leaders will place wreaths at the National Mausoleum in Savar at 9am on Sunday, marking the Victory Day.
They will also take out a ‘Victory Day Rally’ from BNP’s Nayapaltan central office in the city at 3pm the same day.
