Gono Forum President and Jatiya Oikya Front leader Dr Kamal Hossain has urged Prime Minister to take coordinated national efforts in preventing coronavirus, says media report.
In a statement on Monday, Dr Kamal Hossain said, “Many people of the country have lost their lives due to slow decision in dealing with the in checking of coronavirus transmission. Nearly 50,000 people have
been infected with COVID-19. Country’s 17 crore people are now in unknown fear. Experts are apprehending that the number of infection will increase further and the coronavirus situation may turn worse. It is possible to overcome the economic recession slowly, but it is important to save people’s lives now.”
Dr Kamal said, “Slow execution of lockdown, lax law enforcement, irresponsible comments of few ministers permission to workers and commoners to come to Dhaka from villages and vice-versa, delay in taking right decision at the right time, lack of coordination in implementation of decisions, anomaly and mismanagement in health sector have made people’s lives miserable.”
