Former Bangladesh Bank governor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin will contest in the upcoming national elections.
He will collect Awami League (AL) nomination form on Sunday.
Dr Farashuddin, the seventh governor of Bangladesh Bank
(1998-2001), desires to contest the polls as a candidate of the ruling AL from Habiganj-4 constituency.
“I am getting ready for contesting the next parliamentary election from Habiganj-4 constituency as an AL candidate. If the party Chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gives me the nomination I will contest the polls,” Dr Farashuddin told The New Nation on Friday night.
Dr Farashuddin is also the Founder of East West University (EWU) where he was the Founding Vice Chancellor (1995-1998). He is currently the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the University.
